Membership in Headwinds is open to anyone. It is not just a club for "hammer heads". There are members who like to race and members who just like to ride. We are primarily a road bike club but there is a group of mountain bikers too. If your friends or family are sick of your bike talk then come join us to speak more "bike". Along with providing cycling club companionship, it entitles its members to some discounts with local businesses (checkout the Sponsors link on the left to see the participating merchants). It also allows you to use club materials for free (like bike boxes for travel) and access to quality club gear for cheap. Some Calgary bike stores will provide discounts to members who show the membership card/membership receipt as well.

Your membership includes mandatory Alberta Bicycle Association (ABA) insurance and membership for all club rides. This affords many benefits: Pedal Magazine, access to camps and coaching development, affiliation and membership with the Canadian Cycling Association (CCA), access to video library and resource materials. 2011 Membership cost for and individual is only $60 CDN. Keep in mind that $40 goes towards ABA membership and insurance.  So if you look at what you get for $20/season it is a pretty darn good deal. You could win your membership costs back at any club event. NO you don't have to be fast... just show up. Draw prizes happen randomly based on different criteria. There is some great stuff from our sponsors: Ascent and Bert and Mac's. Make sure you thank them! Shop locally. You will support local businesses and get better service.

There are different membership dues for couples, family and juniors. Membership will be available on-line ONLY this year.
